Exchanges and returns at Stanley

The maximum period to make this request is 30 days from receipt of the order, provided that the purchased item is in perfect condition (unused, in its original packaging and box). Remember to keep the purchase invoice to validate the guarantee.

All products purchased on the website have a lifetime warranty and cover manufacturing or quality defects only when they have been used for the purpose for which they were manufactured. It does not cover defects resulting from improper use or abuse of the product such as bumps or scratches. To validate the warranty, the purchase invoice is required.

Information about Stanley products

To verify that the thermos you are going to buy is an original Stanley, you can take into account the characteristics of the brand. These characteristics are the following:

Label indicating its quality

All original Stanley thermoses have a label from the body responsible for certifying the quality of products in each country, which verifies that the steel used to manufacture the product is BPA FREE.

In other words, this label guarantees the healthiness of the product, indicating that it is made from materials that are suitable for contact with food. Of course, original Stanley thermoses have this label, while imitations may not have it.

Manufacturing data

In addition to the label mentioned above, you can also check the originality of the thermos by looking at the manufacturing data found on the base of the thermos.

If you look at the base of your thermos you will find the BPA FREE steel label and also the manufacturing data printed on the steel. Imitations usually also have this data but engraved with a laser.

Country of manufacture (Origin)

Another factor you may want to consider is that while Stanley is an American company, all of its products are manufactured in China.

Many of the imitations come from factories in Brazil. So if someone tries to sell you a Stanley thermos from Brazil, be on the lookout because it is an imitation.

Design

One of the most distinctive features of Stanley thermoses is their style and design. Their sober colours, such as the brand's signature green, burgundy and white, among other options, are typical of this company.

If you find a Stanley thermos with bright prints or colors, it is probably a fake.

Weight of the thermos

A key feature of Stanley thermos flasks is their double layer of steel, which helps to maintain the temperature of drinks for longer. For this reason, original Stanley thermos flasks can be a bit heavy.

On the contrary, imitations do not have this double layer and are lighter, so this factor can also help you recognize an original from an imitation.

User manual

In addition to everything we have already mentioned, each of the original Stanley thermoses comes with a user manual and recommendations for its care.

The original thermoses come with this manual, which is usually quite extensive because it contains instructions in several languages.

Usually imitations, if they have a manual or something similar, have a simple sheet with some instructions, generally only in Chinese.

Inside the thermos

Inside the thermos you can see a weld that looks like a seam. This weld is not harmful to health and will help you confirm that it is an original.

Preheat or precool the inside of your product with warm or cold tap water.

Let sit for five minutes. Empty and immediately fill with your favorite hot or cold beverage.

Finally, secure the stopper and lid as quickly as possible to prevent heat loss.

All Stanley products comply with Prop 65 and FDA requirements. Additionally, all contact surfaces are guaranteed to be safe and BPA-free.

The steel we use (both virgin and recycled) for most of our products is 18/8 or grade 304, also known as food-grade stainless steel.

Like all our products, our stainless steel items must pass rigorous health and safety tests before being made available to the public.

We do not recommend putting milk or dairy products in our vacuum bottles or food jars for long periods of time as bacteria can grow at specific temperatures.

Fermentation of foods and beverages can also cause pressure to build up over time.

Using dry ice in a sealed container is not recommended as the rapid evaporation of CO2 from solid to gas can produce unwanted pressure within your product. Proceed with caution at your own risk.

You can use any soft brush to clean the product. Do not use a metal brush as it may scratch the stainless steel surfaces.

1. Fill with warm water and mild detergent.

2. Let it sit for 5 minutes.

3. Wash with a soft, damp cloth or sponge.

4. Rinse and dry with a clean towel.

5. Your product may need a deep clean from time to time. For this, we recommend soaking a mixture of one part baking soda and one part warm water for up to an hour, then rinsing this mixture off and cleaning with a mild detergent.

To clean your product, we recommend washing it with warm water and a standard non-abrasive household cleaner.

These cleaners can be applied with bristle brushes, sponges or clean cloths.

Soaking the product in a mixture of warm water and baking soda may also help.

Some customers have reported that a soak in white vinegar or lemon juice also removes stains and odors.

After using cleaners, always wash the product thoroughly as recommended in our care and use instructions. Repeat as necessary until stains or odors are gone.

A stainless steel cleaner or polish can also be used on stainless steel products.

The vast majority of our products are made from stainless steel. Even for items where stainless steel is not the main body material, there may still be stainless steel in hinges, handles and other places.

As a result, it is not recommended that you place our products in the microwave. Doing so may cause damage to your product and appliance.

We do not recommend this as liquids expand as they freeze and your item will not return to its original shape.

This expansion can result in damage to your product that will affect its functionality, temperature and seals.

When properly cared for, our products are made from high quality stainless steel and will last a lifetime.

If you notice corrosion that appears to be rust, it could be free iron particles, dirt, or debris that have contaminated the surface.

A standard non-abrasive household cleaner can be used to loosen surface contaminants, removing these particles.

These cleaners can be applied with bristle brushes, sponges, or clean cloths. A stainless steel cleaner or polish can also be used.

Soaking the product in a mixture of warm water and baking soda, white vinegar, or lemon juice may also help.

Repeat as needed to achieve desired result. After using cleaners, always wash the bottle thoroughly as recommended in our care and use instructions.

Stanley thermoses have a temperature curve. This varies depending on the model, so we will take the 1-litre thermos as an example. If we fill it with water at 100°C, it will take 24 hours for the temperature of the liquid to reach 60° (minimum temperature of a hot liquid).

This result is obtained with the thermos filled and hermetically sealed.

Stanley thermoses are made with a double layer of 18/8 stainless steel, ideal for withstanding high temperatures.

Built to last, its thick steel outer wall can withstand bumps and drops better than any other thermos on the market.

Vacuum insulation is the process by which air is removed between the outer and inner walls of the thermos.

In this way, the transfer of thermal energy by convection is avoided.

Double-wall insulation consists of an inner and outer wall that form a vacuum chamber.

Drinks maintain their temperature longer compared to a single-walled container.

It also prevents perspiration (although some condensation may occur if they go through an extreme change in temperature).
